This server recognizes Japanese characters in a document image using OCRopus and NHocr.

The server can handle only machine-printed, horizontal text lines. Dirts and rules (lines) around characters may cause recognition failure. The recognition performance is still limited.

Do not send any confidential images.

 
(BMP, JPEG, PBM/PGM/PPM, and their gzipped files are acceptable.)

Japanese text line recognition - beta

This server recognizes Japanese characters in a text line image using NHocr.

The server can handle only a single, machine-printed, horizontal text line. Input image must not contain any dirt or rules (lines). The recognition performance is still limited.

Japanese single character recognition - beta

This server recognizes a single character image and produces character candidates along with their distances, using NHocr.

Put a square image including only one character.
